Motorama recently celebrated their 60+1 year anniversary, an excellent chance to celebrate our rich history that started back in 1960 at a small service station in Beenleigh.
It was also a chance to reward our broader Motorama family - our staff, manufacturer partners & key suppliers, many of who have assisted & played a part in the the Motorama Group's journey as the business has grown over the decades.
Despite some failed attempts to host a 60th party last year amidst the COVID lockdowns, we couldn't let such a milestone pass without adequate recognition. It was decided to celebrate our 60 + 1 anniversary the following year as restrictions were lifted.
The Motorama Group of businesses has expanded over the years to include a number of multi-location new car franchises (Toyota, Nissan, Holden, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Ford, Kia, Jeep & MG), a finance brokerage (Car Beagle), a Car Subscription business (Motopool), a large used car retailer (bigboxcars), amongst a number of other interests in the local community.
Community Groups & local charities are also a large benefactor from the Motorama Group, with strategic partnerships set up with White Cloud, Starlight Qld & Foodbank Qld. Each year, Motorama donates $100,000 to these charities that is decided based on votes from our customer purchasers. Motorama are also a foundation partner of the Starlight Express Room at the Queensland's Children's Hospital & support numerous smaller community groups & associations through our Community Partner Program.
Because of this Motorama was awarded the inaugural Australian ‘Best Managed Companies’ award at Deloitte’s Australian ‘Best run companies’ evaluation program last year - one of only a thousand companies globally to achieve this.
Three generations of the Woelders' family have helped steer the Motorama Group to become one of the most trusted Automotive brands in Queensland. Mark Woelders, the current Motorama Managing Director (and 3rd generation Woelders) welcomed the Motorama team to celebrate at the Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane. The night was one that will be remembered with three generations of Woelders' sharing the stage with MC Rove McManus, whilst special guests, Guy Sebastian & Jem Cassar-Daley provided the entertainment late into the night.
"We started with just one dealership on the Gold Coast, and over the years grew into one of Queensland's largest car dealerships, while remaining family owned and operated", says John Woelders, son of late founder, Jan Woelders.
"The only way we could have achieved this is with the right people, our staff with the right attitude, plus setting out our values and culture. With the right support and training, you create the right atmosphere for growth, and can create a team that enjoys and takes pride in their work."

"We all started out at the bottom of the business, whether it be my grand dad opening up one car dealership as an immigrant, my father starting his career in the workshop, or myself detailing cars on the yard during school holidays", says now Managing Director, Mark Woelders.
"Just like the family, our business - Motorama - is always looking towards the future, whether it be a new way of selling cars - like our haggle free pricing strategy for our Pre-Owned stores - or changing the way we do business. We recently rolled out new website functionality that allows you to reserve your car completely online. Innovation has and always will be key." Mark added.
"I'm really excited where the Motorama business has come from, the passionate people we have working with us, and where we take the business into the future with the values & culture we are building on everyday".
