Motorama kicks off FUN-raising for 2016

Motorama is one of six foundation partners at the Starlight Express Room at the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in South Brisbane.

In 2016, our aim is to grow our support even further – with ‘fun raising’ ideas that could win you a car!

Motorama is committed to supporting the Starlight Children’s Foundation, so we are launching the Motorama Fun Raising Drive to raise money to grant life changing wishes for deserving kids and their families, and help with the day to day running of the Starlight Express Room.

The Motorama Fun Raising Drive is a way to support Starlight and their amazing work, and you can help too! Each Motorama dealership will be selling tickets for the Motorama Fun Raising Drive, as well as arranging out-of-the-box fun-raising ideas and events to raise as much money as possible.

And there are 35,000 reasons to buy a ticket in the Motorama Fun Raising Drive, with the prize being a car from any Motorama dealership to the value of $35,000! The winner will be able to choose from seven new car brands or over 800 used cars in stock – or even a combination of the two…

You’ll also be able to donate to Starlight in the dealership, with collection boxes in-store at Motorama, or online if you’re pressed for time. These donations will support seriously ill children fulfill their greatest wishes, and help take their mind off the experience of hospitalisation and treatment.

Our goal at Motorama is to grant at least six wishes for Starlight, which means you’re helping real children’s dreams come true when you donate in-store or purchase a ticket at any of our dealerships in Moorooka, Browns Plains or Springwood.

Starlight is well known for their Wish Granting program, which makes the dreams come true for a seriously ill child and their family. When a once-in-a-lifetime wish is granted, it helps take the childs minds off surgery, treatment or hospital stays – it’s all about dreaming, planning and talking about their wish.

The Starlight Express Room is a medical free zone, for seriously ill children and teenagers to get on with being kids – away from the sometimes scary world of hospital and treatment. Running the room is Captain Starlight and a team of dedicated volunteers who are all serious about one thing: having fun! Medical talk is not allowed, so that any children affected by illness (even brothers and sisters) can take their minds off the stress of being away from friends, family and their home in hospital.

Motorama is proud to partner with Starlight as part of our mission, as a value driven company, to support causes that enrich or assist the community significantly. For over 50 years, the Motorama Group has endeavoured to give back to the community of South East Queensland, and support groups, charities and causes that provide invaluable services to Queenslanders and their families.
