Window tinting can be a great way to keep the inside of your car feeling cool and it can even improve your visibility - especially during our sunny Queensland summers!
It's no secret that having your windows tinted can be a considerable investment, which is why you may wish to take special precautions to protect your window tint and keep it looking its best. Of course, asking questions is the best way to find out the information that best applies to your vehicle, but read on for a few tips to get you started.
One thing that many people do not realise about newly-tinted windows is that they can take between three and five days to dry completely. During this time, it is very important to avoid rolling your windows down, as this can cause considerable damage to the film and lead to peeling.
It goes without saying that you should also avoid cleaning your windows while the tinted film is drying. Once it has dried completely, you can gently clean your windows with soft paper towel and a cleanser that does not contain ammonia. As a general rule, avoid window cleaners that are blue in colour, as these often contain ammonia.
You will want to take care of your windows from inside and outside your car. Seatbelts that are released too quickly or carelessly could snap into the window, causing damage to the window tint. Outside, prolonged exposure to harsh UV rays can shorten the life of your window tint. If possible, park your car in a garage or a shady outdoor space to protect your tinted windows.
