Review: 2025 Ford Tourneo Titanium X

If you're running a rideshare business, airport transfer service, chauffeur company - or you just happen to have a tribe of kids to ferry around - you'll want to know about the 2025 Ford Tourneo Titanium X.

This isn't your average people-mover. It's a premium, smartly designed eight-seater that's all about making life easier on the road, whether you're clocking up jobs or doing the school run.

We spent some time behind the wheel and inside the cabin, and here's what we found.

More than just a box on wheels

The first thing that struck us? The Tourneo looks genuinely good. Sure, it's a van at heart - but it doesn't scream "commercial van."

With clean lines, a modern front end, and just the right touch of chrome highlights, it felt right at home pulling up at an airport, hotel, or even a family BBQ. The panoramic windscreen and large side windows also give it a confident, upmarket look while flooding the cabin with light.

What we liked most were the dual sliding doors (powered in Titanium X spec). They made passenger entry and exit super easy, especially in tight carparks or when doing curbside pick-ups.

Out back, the huge tailgate gave us wide, easy access to load up suitcases and gear - even with all eight seats in place. There are tie-down points, a low-loading lip, and the optional powered tailgate feature makes loading heavy bags effortless.

Like a living room on wheels

What stood out to us is how the rear of the Tourneo feels like its own neat little living room.

Every seat gets its own air-con vent, and rear passengers have dedicated climate controls. There are phone cubbies and cup holders everywhere, and that Bang & Olufsen 14-speaker sound system really booms - like having a concert hall on wheels. The panoramic sunroof floods the space with sunlight, making it feel airy and open. Ford talks up 108 seating configurations, though realistically, about 10 will get the most use.

Even on longer runs, we found passengers stayed comfortable thanks to supportive seats and the quiet, insulated cabin.

Clever seating with a few caveats

On our test drive, we really appreciated the middle row's versatility. The seats slide, fold, and can be unhitched from their tracks to face forwards, backwards, or be removed entirely. But heads up: these seats are heavy and a bit cumbersome, so take care when moving them to avoid straining your back. And don't forget to reconnect the electrics - otherwise, you'll miss out on heated seat comforts.

The middle row's centre seat also folds flat, making a handy table for rear passengers. The flat load floor when all rear seats are removed or folded made it easy to transport large or awkwardly shaped cargo on our test.

    Tech & Driver Convenience

Up front, the 13-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen worked like a charm, pairing easily with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The wireless phone charger is tucked deep in a cubby at the base of the centre console - useful, but easy to forget your phone down there.

The front seats sit up high, giving a commanding view through the giant windscreen, and the boxy shape makes it easy to judge angles. Add in the reversing camera, 360-degree camera, and parking sensors, and manoeuvring the Tourneo feels stress-free.

We also liked the digital instrument cluster, which is crisp and easy to read, providing key trip and vehicle data at a glance. Storage up front is smartly laid out, with large door bins, a deep centre console, and even a hidden drawer under the driver's seat.

On the road - Easy-going and capable

The 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine and 8-speed auto combo delivered smooth, quiet progress. Even fully loaded, it had no trouble keeping up.

Around town, it was easier to handle than you'd expect, with light steering and excellent visibility. On the highway, it cruised comfortably and quietly, the cabin staying impressively refined even at motorway speeds. We found the suspension did a great job soaking up bumps, making it pleasant for both driver and passengers.

The diesel engine's torque made overtaking feel effortless, and its fuel efficiency during our drive was impressive for a vehicle of this size. Long-range travel would be no issue, with the large fuel tank adding peace of mind.

Built with families and passengers in mind

We were impressed by the safety kit. The Tourneo Titanium X packs in autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, four ISOFIX points, nine airbags, and an Exit Warning System to help avoid mishaps when doors open into traffic.

The lane centring and adaptive cruise worked seamlessly on our test run, easing fatigue on longer drives.

The 360-degree camera provided a clear, crisp view that made parking in tight city spots simple. And it's reassuring to know this vehicle's been designed with both active and passive safety in mind.

Smart choice for work and play

For business operators, the Tourneo Titanium X hits the sweet spot between premium feel and practicality. The diesel's fuel economy impressed us, and with long servicing intervals, downtime is minimal.

The five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty adds peace of mind, and for ABN holders, there could be attractive tax benefits.

We also appreciated the generous payload and towing capacity - ideal if your business sometimes demands that extra versatility. From airport transfers to private hire, this is a people-mover that ticks all the right boxes.

For families, its blend of comfort, space, and safety makes it easy to see why this could replace both a weekday workhorse and a weekend adventure mobile. The flexibility to handle everything from prams to paddle boards really won us over.

    Ready to move your people?

After spending serious time with the 2024 Ford Tourneo Titanium X, we reckon it's one of the most complete and flexible people-movers on the market. Whether you're moving clients, guests, or kids, it delivers style, comfort, and practical smarts in equal measure.

There's just two trim levels on offer for the Tourneo starting with the Active that you can get for $71,717 drive away. The Titianium X is the higher-end trim and starts from $76,867 drive away - although, the model we drove included optional 19" alloy wheels for an extra $1,000. There's also several colour options above the standard white that will add another $700 to your drive away price.

If you're in the market for a vehicle that can do it all, this one deserves a spot on your shortlist.
